Position Description

SCAN's Male's Recovery Home has 1 full-time Adult Care Worker Position.

The Male's Recovery Home is a gender specific residential substance abuse treatment program for adult males ages 18 and up who are dependent on drugs and/or alcohol.

Job Duties:

  • Provide direct supervision to adult male clients in care and maintain line of site at all times.
  • Provide oversight during recreation, mealtime, relaxing time, and/or play time.
  • Assist during transition and movement of clients from one activity to the next and one physical location to another.
  • Interact with clients in an appropriate manner, including when playing games or during recreational time.
  • Communicate in a positive and respectful manner with clients, families, and all agency staff including supervisors, co-workers, counselors, student interns, volunteers, and other community agencies.
  • Assist clients in learning life skills and redirecting clients when going off task.
  • Complete all required documentation prior to completion of shift.
  • Assist program director with other job duties assigned as needed.
  • Flexible to work 7 days a week with 2 days off on either one of the following shifts: (6;00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.); (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.); or (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.)
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with good driving record.
  • Position requires the availability to work any shift assigned (it may include holidays and/or weekends)
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
  • Applicant must be 21 years or older.
