1 Full-Time Position in Uvalde County

Prevention Specialist for the Futuros Excepcionales YPS Program in Uvalde County.

The YPS Prevention Program provides drug prevention services to youth between the ages of 11-14 in elementary and middle school.

Primary responsibilities include:
1. Recruit, screen, and assess all participants in order to determine their needs and eligibility.
2. Provide prevention services to program participants using an evidence-based curriculum.
3. Provide referrals to support services, AOD and tobacco alternative activities, and community presentations on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED + 30 hours of college credit required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences preferred. Will consider applicant’s with other majors.
• Prior drug prevention experience is preferred.
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a valid driver’s license.

Salary of $12.02 to $14.42 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
