1 Full-Time Prevention Specialist Position

Prevention Specialist for the agency’s YPS Futuros Maravillosos Prevention Program in Maverick Co. The YPS Prevention Program provides drug prevention services to youth in grades 3 through 12.

Primary responsibilities include:
1. Recruit, determine eligibility, pre-test, and post-test all participants.
2. Provide evidence-based drug prevention sessions to participants.
3. Provide a variety of other prevention services including referrals to support services, information dissemination, and AOD and tobacco alternative activities and community presentations to youth and adults.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED + 30 or more hours of college credits required. (One year of full-time drug prevention experience can be substituted for the 30 hour requirement).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences preferred.
• Prior drug prevention experience with youth is preferred.
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a valid driver’s license.

Salary of $11.54 to $12.50 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
